If you regularly drop in title packs, transitions and motion templates, or you rely on their plugins, the subscription pays for itself. We do not compete with that and would not pretend to.
If your edits are your own cuts and the only thing you pull from a library is audio, a one-time sound library removes a monthly bill for a single category.

Take an honest look at your last ten projects and count how many used a Motion Array template versus how many used a sound effect. For a lot of working editors the ratio is heavily lopsided toward sound, because sound gets used on every cut and templates get used on some projects. Subscriptions are priced on the full catalogue, not on the folder you live in.
You can finish an edit without a template, a plugin or a stock clip. You cannot make a cut feel professional without sound. That makes sound effects the worst category to have hostage to a lapsed subscription, and the best category to simply own.
